AI systems play a growing role in decisions that affect individuals, from credit scoring to recruitment. This study examines, from a legal perspective, how personal data protection and the principle of transparency apply to such decision-making processes.
The study compares Turkish Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), assessing topics such as automated decision-making, information obligations, and data subject rights under both frameworks.
The study was prepared within the Economic Law master's programme of the Galatasaray University Institute of Social Sciences. Please contact the office for enquiries about the full text.
