1. Data Controller

Under Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (the "Law"), your personal data is processed by Özden Serinay Öz (Özden Öz Law Office) as data controller, within the scope described below.

2. Personal Data Processed

Through the contact form we process your name and surname, email address, phone number, preferred response method, the information you include in your message, and the date and time the form was sent.

Please do not include special categories of personal data such as health, criminal convictions, religion or ethnic origin, or personal data of third parties, in the message field. If such data is shared, it is processed only to the extent strictly necessary to assess your request.

3. Purposes of Processing

Your personal data is processed to receive and respond to your request, to assess whether it falls within our practice areas, to schedule a meeting, and to communicate with you.

4. Legal Grounds and Method of Collection

Your personal data is collected electronically through the contact form on our website. It is processed on the legal grounds that processing is directly related to the formation of a contract under Article 5(2)(c) of the Law, and that it is necessary for the legitimate interests of the data controller under Article 5(2)(f), provided that it does not harm your fundamental rights and freedoms.

5. Transfer of Personal Data

Your personal data may be transferred to the IT service providers used to operate the contact form and email infrastructure (hosting: DigitalOcean, LLC, United States; email: Google LLC), only to the extent necessary to provide that service. Otherwise, your personal data is not shared with third parties, except upon request by legally authorised public institutions. As these providers' servers are located abroad, your personal data is transferred abroad under a standard contract, one of the appropriate safeguards set out in Article 9 of the Law.

6. Retention Period

If no attorney-client relationship is formed after your request is answered, your personal data is kept for 1 year and then erased, destroyed or anonymised. If an attorney-client relationship is formed, your data is kept for the periods required by the applicable legislation.

7. Your Rights

Under Article 11 of the Law, you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed; to request information if it is; to learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly; to know the third parties to whom it is transferred in Türkiye or abroad; to request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate; to request erasure or destruction under the conditions of Article 7 of the Law; to request that these actions be notified to the third parties to whom the data was transferred; to object to an outcome against you arising solely from automated analysis; and to claim compensation for damage arising from unlawful processing.

8. How to Apply

You may submit requests regarding these rights in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, in writing to the address above or from your email address registered in our system to info@ozdenozlegal.com. Applications are concluded free of charge within thirty days at the latest, depending on the nature of the request.
